Began career with a craft shop called "Sunset Jewelry Shop", which became Sunset Jewelry Co.
Retail production of CJ began in 1938.
Made and rented out much of the wonderful jewelry used in old Hollywood movies during the 1930's and 40's.
Joseff died in 1948, but production continued under the management of his wife, Joan Castle.
Some of the old molds and stampings were used by the company in making jewelry during the 1990's
Difficult to accurately date items marked "Joseph" in script because of recent productions using this mark.
